AVA Chat Overview

AVA Chat brings the power of OpenAI's popular ChatGPT into the safety of your cloud. For creating documents, writing code, creating marketing outlines, planning email campaigns and more, AVA Chat is a powerful tool to transform your work.

Using AVA Chat

AVA Chat can help in nearly every area of information work. You can ask AVA to create email content, answer general knowledge questions and even write database queries. If you need AVA to answer question against a specific document, you can upload a document to your chat. Using a prompting strategy to help AVA understand complex asks is recommended.

AVA Chat is a Generative AI tool, and like all forms of AI, all facts and data she outputs should be checked by a human before making business decisions.  

Adding Documents to Chats

AVA supports the following filetypes:

• PDF
• Docx
• txt

AVA is currently limited to documents of 5mb or smaller. You can add multiple documents at a time to AVA, though she only has so much memory for any single chat or task.

Since AVA lives in your cloud, she can see the documents you have permission to see SharePoint files, email and Teams messages. You can also directly upload documents of supported filetype and size from your computer by selecting the "My Computer" button in the search dialog.

Adding Documents to Chat

1. Click on the "+" button in the left side of the chat bar
2. Select the file, email or data source from SharePoint or your computer
3. Select "Add to Chat"

Saving and Sharing with Workspaces

By default, AVA saves all your work to your session history, but there are more robust ways to interact with the content AVA helps you create. Rather than scrolling back through your chat or the session history, or copying AVA's answers to another app, you can save your work in AVA Workspaces. From here, you can continue editing and share your Chat and Workspace with other members of your team.

Hover over any chat message in AVA, and you will see a "Copy" icon. This will load the content of that Chat message to your clipboard to paste into your Workspace. From there, you can keep editing and formatting, as well as share your work with your team.

Security

AVA lives inside your organization's Azure tenant and uses Microsoft Entra for access. This means the SharePoint data, apps and documents you can access through AVA match the apps you access through Entra.
